Bugoy Drilon Finally Speak Up On ABS-CBN Ban Issue
BUGOY DRILON – Filipino singer Bugoy Drilon finally broke his silence on ABS-CBN ban issue.
Following a previous article, singer Daryl Ong said in his June 15 vlog that a boss from ABS-CBN network banned him and Bugoy Drilon due to their conversation regarding the media network’s franchise. Singer Bryan Termulo commented on his “revelation.”
Termulo said he experienced the same. Ong also had foul words against the media network when he gave his reaction to the online signature campaign.
Bugoy Drilon finally broke his silence on the issue during a Zoom conference with the media to promote his new song “Impossible Love.” Based on a report from PUSH, the singer disproved what Daryl Ong has said in his vlog.
“Actually, klinear naman na po ni Daryl sa video na nadamay lang ako. Ayaw ko na nga po sana pag-usapan ang issue na ‘to kasi I’m at peace naman po sa puso ko,” he said.
According to the report, Bugoy Drilon still made guest appearances in several Kapamilya shows including ASAP, FM radio MOR, and MYX. “Actually, may MYX po ako na guesting. Nag-MOR na rin po ako na guesting. Actually, nung nag-lockdown, in-invite na rin ako ng ASAP Natin ‘To to guest,” he said.
The “Pinoy Dream Academy” finalist also shared what exactly happened. He said the issue started at an airport while waiting for their flight. He admitted that he had a conversation with Ong, a woman who used to work with the Kapamilya network, and another man did happen.
“Ganito po ‘yun. Gusto ko ilagay ninyo ang shoes niyo on my shoes. May kaibigan ka, nag-uusap kayo. Siyempre, hindi naman pwedeng hindi magsalita kasi you’re part of the conversation. Ang sinabi ko lang po doon talaga, kasi that time, nagkakaroon sila ng sign petition, ‘di po ba? Na one million signatures for that petition,” Bugoy said.
Bugoy Drilon said a woman who happens to be a road manager joined their conversation and told them to invest with ABS-CBN. He said the woman’s statement prompted a response from Ong. “And then, doon na siya magsabi nang ‘Sa tingin mob a mare-renew ‘yung franchise ng ABS-CBN?”
Bugoy responded: “And ang sagot ko, ‘I think, yes.’ Kasi nakita ko sa Facebook, I think, kulang na lang sila ng 60,000 sa one million signatures. ‘I think, yes, mare-renew sila.’ ‘Yun lang ang kinontribute ko sa conversation.” He added: “So, I can’t say sa side ni Daryl kasi sinabi na po niya ang side niya.”
Based on the report, Bugoy Drilon said his conscience is clear because he did not say anything against his home network. He also revealed that he and Ong managed to maintain their friendship despite everything that happened.
“We’re okay po. Going strong pa rin ang friendship bamin. Because at the end of the day po, we are trying to entertain the people. And at the end of the day, ‘yung music po. ‘Yun po ang motto ko, e, like, I want to share my music,” he said.
