Two LTO Traffic Enforcers Arrested Asking For Bribes
LTO TRAFFIC ENFORCERS ARRESTED – During an entrapment operation, two LTO traffic officers were apprehended by authorities due to asking for bribes.
Amid the coronavirus pandemic, several protocols were imposed, especially on vehicles and travel. If you have a motorcycle and want to allow backrides, you need to have a protective barrier. However, some traffic authorities abuse these and try to get money off it.
In a recent report, a father carrying hollow blocks in his tricycle was arrested for not having a barrier. According to Cammy Timban, local authorities allegedly abused this mandate to get some quick cash.
What’s more concerning was that his father was allegedly charged with P5,000 for his violation. However, the “kind” officials of the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) allegedly gave him a discount and was only required to pay P1,500.
Meanwhile, according to a report from DZMM, the traffic enforcers who were caught in Tuguegarao, Cagayan, reportedly confiscated the OR-CR of a delivery van and charged 30,000.
