ABS-CBN Talents, Employees Have 'Ongoing Conversation' w/ TV5

There’s an ongoing conversation between TV5 and ABS-CBN talents and employees

TV5 Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan confirmed that there is an ongoing conversation between the Kapatid network and ABS-CBN talents and employees.

Following the decision of Congress to deny the franchise application of the Kapamilya network, talks about network transfer of its talent have been circulating.

Previously, former Kapamilya actress Jessy Mendiola has already promoted her new show on TV5 after several years of being under the management of Star Magic, the talent management company of ABS-CBN.

There has been speculations also about the TV5 appearance of Kapamilya journalist Karen Davila, specifically on the new show of Luchi Cruz-Valdes.

Amid this trying time for ABS-CBN talent and employees, the management of the Kapatid network expressed willingness to welcome them. Based on the recent Facebook post of the network, Chairman Manny Pangilinan said that there is an ongoing conversation between two parties regarding this matter.

“There are ongoing conversations with their talents, but it’s not as expansive as one would assume. We’re careful about any contractual arrangements these talents have with ABS. We’d like to respect that. And even if they don’t have any contractual obligations with ABS, we’re careful, we respect whatever arrangements they might have with their mother studio,” the TVexecutive said.

Based on the article from the Philippine Entertainment Portal, MVP Group of Companies was able t acquire TV5 from Malaysian investors in 2010. At that time, the TV company was aggressive in recruiting talents to sign a contract with them.

However, now, the company is more cautious about talents who expressed interest to work in TV5 as what an online news site stated. It was said that the business magnate is now extra careful not to lose millions of pesos worth of contracts just like what happened in the past.
