Suspected Rebel Wanted For Multiple Cases, Arrested In Negros Oriental

SUSPECTED REBEL – A suspected member of the New People’s Army was recently arrested in Barangay Binobohan, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental.

According to ABS-CBN News, the suspect, who is identified as Poferio Landesa, was arrested by troops from the 94th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army.

Landesa was suspected to be the member of a local guerilla unit of Central Negros 1 Komiteng Rehiyon-Negros-Cebu-Bohol-Siquijor.

A warrant of arrest was issued against Landesa over a case involving the death of a CAFGU member in 2018, as well as a case of illegal possession of firearms and explosives.

Recovered from the suspect were one caliber .38 revolver, and 13 bullets.

Based on the report, the suspect is currently detained at Guihulngan Police.

Meanwhile, in the western region of Negros, in Bacolod, a suspected member of a Tonggo Group was arrested.

They arrested a suspect in a buy-bust operation in Prk. Masanag-1, Brgy. 26, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.

The suspect was arrested for violating Republic Act No. 10591, also known as “Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act“.

Recovered from the suspected member were one unit Interodynamic Miami F.L. Model sang KG 99 Cal. 9mm Luger with two magazines, and one cal.22 magnum revolver, and more.

The suspect was involved in selling illegal firearms in Bacolod.
