BREAKING: PhilHealth Senior VP Resigns From Post

PHILHEALTH SENIOR VP RESIGNS – Allegations of corruption is has taken a drastic turn as high-ranking officials begin to tender their resignation.

Earlier, the state-run health insurance firm, PhilHealth’s Senior Vice President, Augustus de Villa gave his resignation to the President and CEO Ricardo Morales. This was following allegations of corruption directed towards several officials in the firm.

According to a report by ABS-CBN, De Villa wrote:

“I hereby tender my irrevocable resignation, effective immediately, from the service of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation.

The Vice-Chairman knows fully well the reasons. I briefed him earlier today at his residence in Taguig City.
Be assured that I will make myself available for the ongoing investigations in aid of legislation in both Houses of the Congress of the Philippines.

I thank President Rodrigo Roa-Duterte and the full membership of the Board of Directors for giving me the opportunity for “Selfless service to god and the country, (with) honor and excellence” well beyond my retirement in 2019 from the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
