Personal Grudge Eyed As Motive Behind Killing Of PCSO Official
PCSO OFFICIAL – The Mandaluyong City Police considered personal grudge as motive behind the killing of a PCSO Official on Wednesday afternoon.
PCSO board secretary Wesley Barayuga was recently shot to death by an unknown assailant in corner between Calbayog at Malinaw Streets in Mandaluyong City..
Mandaluyong police chief Col. Hector Grijaldo Jr. reported that there are certain gambling operators who filed a case against Barayuga, according to ABS-CBN News.
“May mga aprubado at hindi aprubadong prangkisa doon sa mga gambling operation na, ‘yung may authority na pino-provide po ng PCSO. Mayroon pong mga gambling operator na nag-file ng kaso batay sa impormasyon na nakuha namin,”
The local police also formed a special investigation task group “SITG Barayuga” specifically for the said ambush.
The task group will collaborate with the National Bureau of Investigation, as well as other agencies in order to resolve the incident.
“Intended ito na mapalawig pa natin ‘yung scope ng investigation at hindi lang siya limited sa Mandaluyong police but tapping other law enforcement units, ‘yung CIDG po natin, ‘yung NBI, and other law enforcement agency na makatulong upang ma-solve po itong kaso natin,”
Based on the report, Barayuga was a former police officer and the former Iloilo Police director.
Initial probe shows that the assailant was beside Barayuga’s vehicle and shot him, who was sitting on the passenger side.
Barayuga wa with his driver, who was also shot but was taken to the hospital.
