PNP Files Charges Against J&T Following Investigation
J&T EXPRESS – The Philippine National Police (PNP) files charges against J&T Express for allegedly mishandling packages.
Over the past couple of months, J&T had faced harsh criticisms from customers following a video showing mishandling of products. Since then, several photos, videos, and stories surfaced regarding how the service handles parcels.

Because of the massive negative attention garnered by J&T, even President Rodrigo Duterte chimed in on the issue. Afterward, he ordered the PNP to investigate the claims of mishandling of parcels.

According to an article from CNN, Police Chief Archie Gamboa stated that his men discovered several violations committed by J&T. Additionally, the PNP also discovered violations on labor laws.
As such, the PNP had since collaborated with the Department of Labor and Employment to handle the issue. Another violation committed were laws on Reporting of Communicable Diseases.
True enough, we were able to successfully file separate cases in violation of RA (Republic Act) 11332 and that of (RA) 7394 or the Consumer Protection Act

Gamboa added that the PNP’s regional offices also gathered evidence of provincial hubs as there may also be violators.
J&T management had since apologized for the video and said an internal investigation was made. However, there were still videos surfacing long after their apology was made.
Along with this, the J&T Hub in Muntinlupa was ordered to be shutdown for operating without a mayor’s permit.
