DOH Pushes Pimentel Quarantine Violation Complaint To NBI, PNP
DOH PUSHES VIOLATION – The Department of Health (DOH) has officially endorsed a complaint against Senator “Koko” Pimentel.
In March, Pimentel went to Makati Medical Center with his wife who was about to have a child. However, the Senator was already placed under quarantine and found out on the day he went to MMC that he was positive for the virus.

Because of this, staff members who came in contact with the Senator had to be placed under quarantine, slowing down operations. Since then, the Senator was under immense criticisms from both the public and fellow lawmakers. However, Pimentel did his best to justify his actions.
Meanwhile, according to a report from Inquirer, the DOH endorsed the complaint to the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
The complaint against Pimentel was formally endorsed to the authorities by Rico Quicho, lawyer and former dean of University of Makati. Additionally, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire also confirmed the endorsement in an online forum.
In April, lawyer Rico Quicho has also filed a formal criminal complaint against the lawmaker. Quicho has sent a letter-complaint to the Department of Justice (DOJ) thru email. The letter included a detailed “facts and circumstances that establish his direct violation of RA No. 11332 and its implementing rules and other DOH regulations.”
