JUST IN: Eduardo Cojuangco Jr. Died After Losing Battle With Cancer

EDUARDO “DANDING” COJUANGCO JR. DIED – The beloved Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of San Miguel Corporation had passed away on Tuesday at the age of 85.

Following his death, the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) paid tribute to his life in a tweet. Danding owned three teams that were in the PBA: San Miguel Beermen, Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, and Magnolia Hotshots.

In their tweet, the PBA stated:

Chairman and CEO of San Miguel Corp., politician, diplomat, businessman, team owner, sports patron… Thank you for your countless contribution to the PBA and sports!

Our prayers and condolences to his family and loved ones. Requiescat in pace!

Not only was Eduardo Cojuangco Jr. the Chairman of San Miguel, but he also had positions as the CEO of Ginebra San Miguel Inc and was the Chairman of the Board for Petron.

Additionally, the San Miguel CEO also owned a private cement-manufacturing business, stud farms, and wineries in Australia. According to an article from Manila Bulleting, Cojuangco was named the 16th richest man in the Philippines back in 2019.
