Dumaguete City Barangay Chairman Shot To Death

DUMAGUETE CITY BARANGAY CHAIRMAN – A barangay chairman in Dumaguete City was shot to death by unknown assailants on Tuesday night.

According to a post from ABS-CBN News, the barangay chairman, identified as Harrison Gonzales, was seated in front of the outpost at Barangay Tinago at 9:30 PM.

He was with his fellow officers when assailants aboard their motorcycles fired at them, as reported by the police.

Initial investigations show that there were four assailants of which, each of them were aboard their motorcycles.

Gonzales, who is 52 years of age, received gunshot wounds. He was eventually declared dead on arrival by the attending physician in the hospital.

Based on the report, retrieved from the crime scene were 8 empty cartridges and 2 slugs of one firearm.

The police have yet to probe further to determine the motive of the crime.
