MICHAEL JORDAN – NBA superstar Michael Jordan issued a statement in the wake of the death of George Floyd and nationwide protest.

American former professional basketball player Michael Jordan is regarded by most as the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) the greatest player of all-time. He won six (6) titles with the Chicago Bulls.

The NBA legend is unarguably the most famous and the richest basketball player in the world. The popular sportswear brand, Nike even signed him to a major shoe deal due to his fame.

Recently, Michael Jordan released a statement regarding the death of George Floyd. The 46-year-old African-American man died after a white cop named Derek Chauvin kneeled on his neck while he was pinned on the floor.

The 44-year-old police officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota has been charged with murder. The video footage of Floyd’s death went viral on all social media sites. His untimely death triggered nationwide protests.

Based on a report from ABS-CBN, Michael Jordan released a statement condemning George Floyd’s death on Sunday. The NBA superstar said his heart went out of the victim’s family and to other African-Americans who died through acts of racism.

“I am deeply saddened, truly pained and plain angry… I see and feel everyone’s pain, outrage and frustration. I stand with those who are calling out the ingrained racism and violence toward people of color in our country. We have had enough,” he said.

According to the report, Michael Jordan’s comments came after the violent protests in US cities. People break windows, ransack stores, and burn cars. He called on society to show compassion and empathy. He said they will never tolerate senseless brutality anymore.

“We need to continue peaceful expressions against injustice and demand accountability. Our unified voice needs to put pressure on our leaders to change our laws, or we need to use our vote to create systemic change…”

“Every one of us needs to be part of the solution, and we must work together to ensure justice for all,” he added.
