Answers To The Question “I Am An Integer Greater Than -10 But Less Than 10”
MATH PROBLEMS – In this article, we are going to answer the math problem that goes “I am an integer greater than -10 but less than 10. If you divide me by -6, my quotient is a positive integer. Who am I?”.
Unlike those Facebook riddles, math riddles actually have a logical explanation for their answers that satisfies everybody. In this question, the easy answer is “-6” (negative six). Here’s why!
First, we need to take a look by the number we’re dividing by – “negative six (-6)”, also, the quotient of this equation would need to be a positive integer”.
With that alone, we could already deduce that the answer is -6 since it would be the only number that could produce a positive number – “1” (positive one).
This is true because when doing the equation (-6/-6), we cancel out the negative signs to get the answer of one. Surely, you could always divide it with any negative number between -10 and 10. However, this would be the only number that could produce an “integer”.
