Man Arrested In Anini-y Town, Antique For Bringing Liquor Amid Ban
ANINI-Y TOWN – A 43-year-old driver was arrested by police in a border in Anini-y Town, Antique province for bringing boxes of liquor.
According to ABS-CBN News, the man, identified as Arlie David from Janiuay town, Iloilo, was arrested by the local municipal police in a border in Barangay San Francisco in the said municipality.
The occured at around 8 AM in the morning while the authorities were on patrol.
David allegedly attempted to sneak boxes full of liquor in the province of Antique, which is still under liquor ban. Authorities have confiscated 21 boxes of rum.
As per the report, the vehicle he used for his attempt had a certificate of registration of a media outlet but it also had an official receipt which belongs to a certain Gerome Apolona, says PRO 6 spokesperson Police Lt.Col. Gilbert Gorero.
Upon probe, they eventually found out that David borrowed the vehicle.
The suspect is now under police custody and will be charged for violation of liquor ban.
