Daniel Fernando Disrespected SBMA Chief? Bulacan Gov. Explains Side

Daniel Fernando explains his side over SBMA incident

Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando allegedly disrespected SBMA chief Wilma Eisma, however, he denied this and explained his side.

On May 20, an article in The Manila Times stated that Fernando, who is a former actor, intended to enter the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) through the Tipo gate. However, security personnel who were guarding the area did not allow him.

At that point, he called Eisma and reasoned out that he will bring relief goods to people in Morong, Bataan. Because of what he said Eisma presented that he will be escorted by the guards but the governor refused. So, the SBMA chief did not allow him to enter, and based on the article, Fernando changed his narrative and just said that he will be bringing cash.

However, it was said that one of the people from his party already told the guards that he will just visit his resort in Bataan. Allegedly, Fernando told Eisma, “Hindi mo man lamang ako binigyan ng galang. Hindi naman ako ordinaryong tao.”

Based on the report, the Bulacan Governor also called Gen. Carlito G. Galvez (Ret.) of the Inter-Agency Task Force for Management of Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF-EID) and reported the “treatment” that he got from the SBMA administrator.

On May 21, the same news entity reported that Daniel Fernandez clarified his side. He said that he did not talk to the SBMA chief in a disrespectful manner during the said incident that happened on May 8.

“They have previously called me to help them in their dire situation and I decided to make the trip as they are not allowed to travel due to the lockdown. I also thought of it as an opportunity to visit and extend help to Bulakeños stranded in the area needing immediate help,” the actor-turned-politician said.

He also stressed out that he did not fight with Eisma and according to him the administrator even apologized to him for not allowing him to enter the area, based on the report.

“Ang ikinasama lang po ng loob ko ay pinag-hintay pa kami ng mahigit isang oras, tapos sinabihan pa ako na…’be a good example for others’ eh wala naman ako nilalabag,” Fernando explained.
