Even in easily accessible platforms like Shopee, citizens could buy Rapid Test Kits for COVID-19 for P2,500. Moreover, the seller states that these kits are “DOH” and “FDA Approved”.
However, the NBI urged the public not to trust these online sellers as COVID-19 test -kits are only for use of licensed physicians, hospitals, or drugstores.
As per the report, a case against the online sellers is now being readied by the authorities. As such, the arrest of these two individuals must be seen as a warning to those trying to capitalize on the pandemic.
