33 Stranded Foreigners Flown Out In Bohol Via Sweeper Flights

STRANDED FOREIGNERS – 33 stranded foreigners in Bohol were recently flown out of the province via one of the sweeper flights.

According to a report from Bohol Chronicles, Department of Tourism’s (DOT) Jaypee Orcullo reported that among the foreign nationals who were flown out were 18 Chinese, 12 Korean and 2 Austrian.

They were flown from Bohol Panglao International Airport, which has been shut down for commercial flights during the COVID-19 crisis, to Mactan Cebu International Airport.

Orcullo added that they prepared two flights from small aircrafts from the Southern Air Flight Services Inc. and Far East Aviation Services.

The said foreign nationals will then take flights from Mactan to Chengdu, China and Incheon, South Korea.

As per the report, via the DOT, the government has been preparing sweeper flights for thousands of stranded foreign nationals in the Philippines.

Since March, the tourism department has facilitated outbound flights of around 1,127 foreigners from the island province of Bohol.
