Mel Tiangco said this about her past issue with ABS-CBN
Veteran Kapuso broadcast journalist Mel Tiangco expressed her thoughts regarding her past issue with ABS-CBN as it was recalled amid the network’s franchise issue.
Before being a Kapuso, Mel was one of the premiere news anchors of the Kapamilya network. She has a known onscreen tandem with fellow veteran broadcaster Jay Sonza.
However, they were suspended by the network when they appeared in a detergent soap commercial without the knowledge of its news and public affairs department, based on the article from Bandera. Reportedly, Mel and Jay won from the lower court and until the case reached the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court.
Amid the issue of ABS-CBN’s franchise, the past issue of Mel Tiangco and Jay Sonza with the media company was recalled, especially that the latter has been vocal about his criticisms against his former TV network.
On the other hand, Mel is silent about this and according to columnist Ronnie Carrasco III, the female broadcaster has already forgiven those who erred against her in the past even though she did not receive apology.
It was said that Mel’s perception to this is different from what her former partner has. “Sapat na ang mga biyayang natatanggap niya mula sa nilipatang GMA para magtanim pa siya ng sama ng loob,” Carrasco stated in his article.
Meanwhile, another ABS-CBN employee also filed a complaint against the network after his suspension. DZMM host Jobert Sucaldito received a suspension after his fierce comment against Nadine Lustre. Even though he issued his public apology, he was still suspended indefinitely and without pay. With this, he resorted to legal action.
