Six People In Cordova Town, Cebu Arrested For Illegal Gambling
CORDOVA TOWN – Six individuals, among them were some SAP and UCT beneficiaries, were arrested by police in Cordova town, Cebu for illegal gambling.

According to Inquirer’s Cebu Daily News, Police Lieutenant Colonel Jan Ace Layug, chief of the local town police, identified the arrested as the following:
- Veloso Seguisabal, aged 25
- Analyn Abayin Inting, aged 43
- Florilyn Verano Inting, aged 52
- Marcelo Sayuday Garrido, aged 43
- Emmanuel Verano Inting, aged 19
- Camelo Veloso Seguisabal Jr., aged 28
All six of them were residents of Sitio Camino in Barangay Gabi, with 5 of them were identified as social amelioration program (SAP) and unconditional cash transfer (UCT) beneficiaries.
Their arrest was after concerned citizens in the area reported to the police.
Layug mentioned earlier that they got reports regarding illegal gambling in the town amid the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) due to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
“Cordova MPS personnel will not get tired of warning all Cordovanhons to stay at home and abide with the rules set by our government for this quarantine period. While we are at the frontlines of our battle against COVID-19, we will not cease from conducting operation against all forms of illegal activities,”
As per the report, the arrested are now under the custody of the Cordova Police and will be charged for illegal gambling and violating ECQ protocol.
