COVID-19 Testing In Two Brgys In Mandaluyong Under Lockdown
COVID-19 TESTING – According to the local government unit of Mandaluyong, coronavirus testing of two barangays under lockdown is in full swing.
The two barangays placed under lockdown were Barangay Additional Hills who began the lockdown on May 7 and Barangay Mauway who began a three-day lockdown which started on Monday.
As such, the LGUs stated that they would try to finish the rapid testing of the residents in the two barangays on Wednesday, May 13. This would be two days before the supposed end of the ECQ in some areas of the Philippines.
According to an article from ABS-CBN, the Addition Hills has around 2,500 residents were tested for COVID-19. Of that number, 120 were found positive for the deadly disease.
However, there are still 500 residents that need to be tested according to Jimmy Isidro, the spokesperson for the city government. Meanwhile, Barangay Mauway 120 residents have already been tested.
The results of that test revealed 19 residents tested positive for the new coronavirus. But, there are still over 1,000 people in need of testing.
As per the report, those who tested positive during the rapid testing will undergo swab testing to confirm their infection. Moreover, those given priority testings were frontliners and tricycle drivers. On Monday, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the province reached 475.
Currently, the Philippines still continues to battle against the new coronavirus. In lieu of this, some areas still remain under an Enhanced Community Quarantine while some have eased their quarantine protocols.
