JUST IN: 14 New COVID-19 Cases In Zamboanga Includes Jail Personnel, Detainees
JUST IN: Zamboanga City reports 14 new coronavirus cases including 6 jail personnel and 8 detainees.
As such, the city-wide total had risen to 74. Previously, Zamboanga had already reported cases of COVID-19 in their jails. Based on previous reports, The Zamboanga City Reformatory Center confirmed 18 inmates positive for the virus.
Along with this, one officer of the precinct also tested positive for the deadly disease. Likewise, another report from May 3, confirmed 27 new cases of COVID-19 also from the Reformatory Center.
Additionally, 2 personnel was also infected with the virus. Meanwhile, Mayor Beng Climaco stated they coordinated with BJMP in “exerting best efforts to include providing resources and logistics to address the outbreak inside the city jail”.
Currently, the number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines had risen to 10,794. Moreover, the number of fatalities caused by the virus was now at 719. Meanwhile, the number of recoveries rose to 1,924.
