Talented transgender woman singer-musician Lady Valerie dies at the age of 69 this morning of May 8, Friday.

She was known for her remarkable talent in playing the piano and electric organ. During the 80s and the 90s decades, their group, Lady Valerie and Her Orchestra was popular for their music, especially to those who love ballroom dancing.

Based on the article from the Philippine Entertainment Portal, fashion designer Adrian Rios, the cousin of the musician, confirmed this sad news. Reportedly, Valerie, Valentino Rios Trillo in real-life, passed away due to heart attack.

“I also learned from a mutual cousin that she died early at dawn, atake saw. Right now, nasa funeral home siya in Cavite, and bukas ang cremation niya,” Adrian shared talking to the entertainment news site.

He also said that there is no schedule yet of the wake but perhaps it will take place after the enhanced community quarantine. “Yun pa lang ang details na natanggap ko from their immediate family,” the fashion designer added.

Valerie is survived by her mother, 2 brothers, and two sisters, based on the report.

One of her siblings was Antonio Torillo, an eagle scout who was among those who died in a plane crash in the Arabian Sea back on July 28, 1963. That tragic accident was recorded in history as the United Arab Airlines Flight 869 crashed and caused the death of many.

At that time, the Philippine delegates were supposed to attend the 11th World Scout Jamboree in Marathon, Greece but they were not able to reach their destination. Reportedly, 22 boy scouts and three scoutmasters died in that tragic plane crash.
