As a legislator, I am also studying possible legislative measures needed to support the ‘Balik Probinsya’ initiative, such as the proposed Citira Law that would provide more incentives for businesses to invest in other regions outside Metro Manila,” the lawmaker said in a report from The Manila Times. He also said that it should be done by dividing this into phases.

The Senator referred to the Corporate Income Tax and Incentives Rationalization Act. This bill pending in the Senate that seeks a fair ground of tax collection and incentive provided for rural and urban areas. This also aims to give benefit to the local and rural communities as new investments are expected to come in.

On Wednesday, the President has signed the EO institutionalizing the said program which aims to ensure “balanced regional development”.
