Based on police reports, the two suspects were caught during a buy-bust operation on Sitio Buwaran in Sawang-Calero, Barangay Suba. Furthermore, the suspects were said to be residents of Barangay Sambag 1.

Meanwhile, Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) Director Police Colonel Josefino Ligan called on the Cebu City Health Department to test the other inmates who came in contact with the two COVID-19 positive suspects.

Along with this, the personnel within the precinct also needed to be tested. While waiting for the testing, personnel from the precinct would be placed under isolation. Additionally, the Police station would undergo disinfecting protocols, especially in the inmate’s cells.

As such, Ligan urged other precincts and all police to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, face shields, and face masks for protection. Furthermore, Ligan doubted the virus was brought through the food given to the suspects.
