QUEZON CITY- Disciplinary Task Force hit stubborn enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) violators with a hard stick as their punishment.

As the confirmed case of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) continue to rise President Rodrigo Duterte immediately placed entire Luzon in enhanced community quarantine to contain the spread of the virus.  

Gatherings of large crowds, public transportation, and non-essential businesses were suspended. However, there are still some who take the risk and opt to break the quarantine protocol.

Meanwhile, some violators of enhanced community quarantine lined up as they sat and watched by the disciplinary task force. In a video uploaded by TNT Abante, shows a column standing then beaten by the officials.

According to the article, a netizen complains to the Quezon City Task Force Disiplina that the beating is illegal but the Task Force responded to the social media, this disciplinary action and it’s not a human rights abuse and that it was better than taking them to jail.

The residents were also notified but if they were caught twice or more times so they got to be beaten. It also explained, there already 30 COVID-19 cases in Batasan, that’s why they implement stricter monitoring on the area.

Previously, President Duterte warns stubborn violators such as derby fans doing illegal cockfighting amid ongoing ECQ and people drinking alcohol amid liquor ban that they will not receive any help from the government.
