Saudi Arabia King Quarantined Due To Royal Family Testing Positive For Coronavirus

SAUDI ARABIA KING QUARANTINED – The Royal Family of Saudi Arabia has been hit by the coronavirus, infecting 150 members.

Because of this, King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman have both been placed under quarantine. Members who tested positive for the virus include Saudi Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Furthermore, Al Saud, already in his 70s is now in an intensive care unit after being infected with the virus. Meanwhile, King Salman, now 84, was placed under isolation on an island close to Jeddah.

Also, the Crown Prince was placed on a remote site near the Red Sea coast.

According to a report from Mazech Media, doctors of the elite King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh had prepared 500 more beds as they expect a surge of patients.

As such, the hospital stated that they do not know the exact number of patients that would be coming in. However, they emphasized that they would be on high alert. Additionally, they mentioned only “top urgent cases” would be accepted.

Saudi princes have been known to regularly travel to European countries. With this, some of the princes may have contracted the virus during their travels and brought the disease back to Saudi Arabia.

Currently, experts predicted that Saudi Arabia would see an excess of over 200,000 COVID-19 cases within weeks. Along with this, the nation’s health minister stated that the kingdom would be facing “critical moments” in the battle against the virus.

As of writing, the Kingdom confirmed 3,287 cases of COVID-19. Additionally, the virus had caused 44 fatalities as reported on Thursday afternoon, April 9.
