10 Derby Fans Nabbed for Cockfighting in Mandaluyong Amid Ongoing ECQ
Almost ten (10) derby fans were nabbed after caught on cam for doing cockfighting amid ongoing enhanced community quarantine.
At least ten residents of Barangay Addition Hills in Mandaluyong will face the charges after being caught on cam while watching alleged cockfighting. In a report of GMA News, Barangay Captain Carlito Cernal said they have arrests who are involved and some are still being sought.
“Mayroon na po kaming nahuli kagabi, sampu na po iyon. Pinakasuhan na ng mayor at ina-identify pa po namin ‘yung mga nasa picture ngayon and iniisa-isa po naming madala sa PNP namin,” Cernal said in an interview with Dobol News TV.
The people who were caught on cam were no longer in the area when the barangay police officials responded. But based on their investigation the alleged incident was not cockfighting.
Ang nangyari pala kahapon hindi naman totally nagsabong, parang nagbitaw lang po ng manok. In-exercise,” the captain said. He also added that “Wala naman kaming nakita na may dugo o balahibo ng manok.”
A photo of at least 20 residents of Barangay Addition Hills was circulated on social media Tuesday as it surrounded two chickens. Residents appear to have ignored social distancing which to prevent the transmission of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
