COVID-19 Must Not Be Joked Around During April Fools Day

COVID-19 – Certain known people and firms have urged the public and placed it into themselves not to make COVID-19 jokes during April Fools’ Day.

April Fools’ Day is a yearly custom where people worldwide make practical jokes and hoaxes on the 1st of April.

However in this year, there is one of the things that is not to be casually joke around, the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.

Earlier, Google announced that they will halt this tradition in order to help people which is its main priority. The company further said that it is “no time to joke around” implying that this is not a good mood for this.

Vico Sotto also posted on Twitter, urging the public not to make jokes about the virus during this time, while jokingly said that they will be “sent to the isolation facility for 14 days.

This tweet is a reply from EarthShaker, a science-affiliated organization who also urged the same warning to the public, among them includes being “COVID-19 positive”.

Esquire also echoed the advise to the public, adding some of the virus-related stuff not to joke around:

  • Saying lockdown has extended futher
  • There is a cure for the virus

The website added that humor is not bad since it is needed for our mental health but while people are still dying, these jokes will have to be postponed.
