As coronavirus spreads throughout the world, anxiety and fears strike the hearts of millions. People commit to panic buying and hoarding of essential needs, leaving the rest with nothing.

However, a man from Japan committed a crime much worse – deliberately spreading the virus itself.

According to an article from SCMP, a Japanese man who tested positive for COVID-19 went to a pub or hostess bar to deliberately infect others.

Before going to the pub, the man got tested on March 4 in Gamagori city, central Aichi Prefecture. Bot his parents were infected with the virus.

The man, in his 50s, was found positive for COVID-19. But, instead of isolating himself as per the instruction of doctors, the man told a relative that he would go out and “spread the virus”.

The Tokyo Reporter website quoted a member of staff of one of the bars saying: “I can’t get this straight in my head. I cannot express it in words since I only have anger.”

As per the report, the man then took a taxi and had a meal at an izakaya restaurant. Afterward, he went to a bar where he sang karaoke with a Filipino hostess.

Meanwhile, the owner of the karaoke bar, who was not identified, said: “Employees have had their livelihoods snatched away. This is nothing but terrorism. I want him to be severely punished.”

Additionally, a female employee from the pub who was in her 30s was reported to have contracted the virus.

Currently, according to an article from a Japanese news site, Chunichi, the same man had succumbed to the virus on March 18.
