Elements

According to Britannica Kids, there are many weather elements. Among those were the following:

  • Wind
    • Refers to the movement of air that is parallel to the Earth’s surface. Without the rotation of the planet, these winds would generally blow from areas of high pressure toward areas of low pressure.
  • Temperature
    • The degree or intensity of hotness or coldness. It can also be associated with wind direction.
  • Atmospheric Pressure
    • The atmosphere itself has weight and pushes down on anything below it. Atmospheric pressure refers to the weight of air above a given area on the Earth’s surface.
  • Humidity
    • Refers to the amount of moisture in the air.
  • Clouds
    • An aerosol consisting of a visible mass of minute liquid droplets, frozen crystals, or other particles suspended in the atmosphere of a planetary body or similar space.
  • Precipitation and Storms
    • Precipitation is any liquid or frozen water that forms in the atmosphere and falls back to the Earth.
    • Storms, on the other hand, refers to a huge variety of atmospheric disturbances, which ranges from ordinary rain showers and snowstorms to thunderstorms, wind and wind-related disturbances like gales, tornadoes, tropical cyclones, and sandstorms.
