DOTr Places Rules On Movement On Enhanced Community Quarantine In Luzon
DOTR – The Department of Transportation (DOTr) recently issued guidelines on implementing the Enhanced Community Quarantine over Luzon.
According to GMA News, the transportation department also issued guidelines of the Stringent Social Distancing Measures over the biggest island group, which also includes the National Capital Region (NCR).
The imposing of the guidelines already began at about 12 AM today (March 17, 2020) and will end at around 12 AM on April 13, 2020.
Guidelines | Rules
Based on the report, the guidelines are as follows:
- Operations of MRT-3, LRT-1, LRT-2, and PNR shall suspend;
- Operations of land transport modes shall be suspended. Land transport modes include the following:
- public utility buses
- jeepneys
- taxis
- Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS)
- FX
- UV Express
- Point-to-Point (P2P) buses
- Motorcycle Taxis;
- The transportation department’s aviation sector shall allow foreigners depart from the Philippines within 72 hours after the Enhanced Community Quarantine takes effect;
- Operations in airports shall be limited to outgoing flights carrying foreigners and tourists. Filipinos are not allowed to leave the country;
- Inbound flight will only be for repatriating Filipinos;
- Land, air and sea travel of uniformed personnel for official business, including those transporting medical supplies, laboratory specimens related to the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), and other humanitarian aid, shall be allowed;
- Only one (1) person per household is allowed to head outside their homes in order to buy basic necessities. Use of private vehicles for this purpose shall be allowed; and
- Media vehicles and reporters shall be allowed to travel within the community quarantine area, given that they secure a special media pass from the PCOO.
