Recently, President Rodrigo Duterte declared the country to be on ‘Public Health Emergency’, raised the alert system into Code Red Sublevel 2. In addition, Duterte imposed a 30-day “community quarantine” in Metro Manila.
As the number of people who are infected with coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the country is still growing and as well as those who have not survived, more precautionary measures should be taken to prevent infection.
Meanwhile, a netizen on Facebook named Marc Ken shared a photo showing a creative idea of a taxi driver amid the COVID-19 threat in the Philippines. A taxi driver in Cagayan De Oro earned praise online for safety measures for himself, and even for his passenger against COVID-19.
In the photos, an unidentified taxi driver surrounded the driver’s seat with a plastic sheet instead of wearing a face mask while driving. This will prevent direct contact between him and the passenger. He also wears disposable gloves to secure passenger fares when paying.
The uploader who take the photos lauded the taxi driver saying “Good Job kuya! Keep safe. Godbless.” Netizens also expressed their admiration towards the safety precautionary measures of the driver.
