MMDA Lifts Number Coding Scheme Before Community Quarantine

MMDA – Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) recently lifted the number coding scheme for residents to prepare for the community quarantine enforcement.

According to GMA News, the agency said that the number coding scheme will be lifted until further notice. This is in preparation for restricted movements of residents which will start on March 15.

President Rodrigo Duterte said on Thursday that they will enact tougher measures to combat the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus disease 2019).

This also includes work and class suspensions, as well as banning travels as a part of the community quarantine in the capital.

Furthermore, land, domestic air, and domestic sea travel to and fro the capital will be suspended from March 15 until 14th of April.

As per the report, the country will also ban foreign national from nations with localized transmissions of COVID-19, with the exception of diplomats and permanent residents.

President Duterte declared the community quarantine over NCR (National Capital Region) after his meeting with the members of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) in the MalacaƱang Palace.
