Wealthy Vietnamese Test Positive of COVID-19 after Attending Fashion Shows
A 27-year-old wealthy Vietnamese tested positive with coronavirus disease (COVID-19) after attending fashion shows in Milan and Paris.
According to South China Morning Post, Nga Nguyen, 27, has been confirmed to have contracted the novel coronavirus after jet setting across Europe to attend fashion weeks.
Hundreds of people attended each of the shows, and fashion editors and buyers who returned from Milan and Paris have gone into self-quarantine. Nguyen attended several major fashion weeks including the Saint Laurent show in Paris and the Gucci show in Milan.
The Saint Laurent show on Feb 25 was part of the Paris Fashion Week. The heiress shared on Instagram photos of her attending the fashion weeks. While Paris Fashion Week usually welcomes thousands of fashion enthusiasts from all over the world, the Saint Laurent show is more exclusive as it is normally capped at around 1,000 guests only.
Editors from different countries who have attended the fashion week have confirmed that their companies asked them not to return for a while to prevent the spread of the deadly virus in their country.
Milan, which is in the Lombardy region of Italy, the country with the largest number of cases outside Asia. On Sunday, northern Italy, including Lombardy, was placed under lockdown to prevent the spread of the virus.
