Gamboa Believes No Sabotage Involved in the Crash of PNP Chopper
Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa said on Monday ruled out sabotage in the chopper crash in Laguna last week.
In our previous article, the Bell 429 chopper carrying Gamboa and seven others crashed in San, Pedro Laguna province after it got in contact with live wires. Gamboa and other passengers of the helicopter were immediately brought to the hospitals in Laguna.
Based on the report of GMA News, Gamboa said on the press briefing “Of course ‘yung sabotage, sinadya, I don’t believe so… Personally convinced ako na nobody in his right mind, even what kind of interest he has in mind, would do that.”
“So, ang general term lang na aksidente, hindi ‘yun sinadya ng kahit sino naman doon sa involved… Ako, I strongly believe na walang sabotahe doon,” he added.
The PNP chief suffered a minor injury on his right shoulder. However, two generals, Maj. Gen. Mariel Magaway, PNP Director for Intelligence; and Maj. Gen. Jose Maria Ramos, Director for Comptrollership are currently in the intensive care unit of Unihealth Southwoods Hospital and Medical Center in Laguna.
Gamboa said he instructed the special investigation task group to get all the statements of the passengers and all the witnesses who had seen the accident. He also added that if needed, the manufacturer of the crashed chopper will also be tapped in probing the unfortunate incident.
