Kuwait Suspends Flights to and from 7 Countries Including PH over COVID-19

Kuwait suspends all flights to and from seven (7) including the Philippines for a week starting on Saturday over coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19.

In a report of ABS-CBN News, Kuwait suspended on Saturday all flights to and from Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Bangladesh, India, Sri-Lanka, and the Philippines for a week starting on Saturday. As a measure to prevent the spread of the highly contagious coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

“All arrivals in the State of Kuwait from any nationality who have a valid residency or previous entry visa, as well as those from other airports who were present in the countries mentioned above during the past two weeks, are prohibited,” the Circular said.

Kuwait also banned the entry of anyone who has been in the seven countries in the last two weeks except for Kuwaitis coming from the seven countries. They will be allowed entry but will have to submit to quarantine procedures, the civil aviation directorate added.

Kuwait said the suspension of flights to and from Kuwait International Airport was made pursuant to the decision issued by health authorities. As of Friday, Kuwait has recorded 58 cases of COVID-19 infection.
