Benguet Farmers are Selling Fresh, Cheap Veggies At Quezon Memorial Circle This Weekend
BENGUET – You can help Benguet farmers buy buying their fresh and cheap vegetables at Quezon Memorial Circle tomorrow.
“Salad Bowl of the Philippines” Benguet produces a huge amount of vegetable. Residents on that province earn money from their root crops livestock, tice terraces, and mining of golds.
This mountainous area has a very cool climate which good for the growth of vegetables. In January last year, farmers are forced to dispose tons of carrots due to oversupply.
On the official Facebook Page of QC Small Business and Cooperatives Development Promotions Office, they announced that that the fresh vegetables from La Trinidad, Benguet is coming to Quezon City. Based on their caption, various vegetables will be sold at a very cheap price at Quezon Memorial Circle from March 7 to 8.
Aside from buying their crops at a very low price, you will also be directly helping their farmers sell their veggies too. ‘The Veggie Drop-Off’ are the ones who helped the local farmers transport their vegetables to the city.
“GOOD NEWS! Mura at sariwang mga gulay mula sa La Trinidad, Benguet ang maaari ng mabili ngayong darating na sabado at linggo, March 7-8, 2020 sa ating QC Fresh Market sa Quezon Memorial Circle. Maraming salamat sa The Veggie Drop-Off sa pagtulong sa ating mga farmers upang dalhin ang kanilang produkto sa ating lungsod!”
In the caption, they encourage their shoppers to bring their own reusable bags instead of plastic. “Bawal na po ang plastic sa QC. Please bring your own reusable bag o eco bag,” it added.
The event at Quezon Memorial Circle will surely solve the struggle of Benguet farmers in transporting the crops to the city markets.
