According to Inquirer, acting chief of Cabanatuan police Lieutenant Colonel Arnel Dial said that among the fatality was Jayson Magno, a resident of Barangay Imelda in the city.

The acting chief said that Magno led the anti-narcotics operatives to a gunfight in a buy-bust operation at around 6:15 PM in Brgy. Kapitan Pepe.

Probers recovered a homemade .38-caliber revolver, seven sachets of illegal drugs, ₱500 marked money and a motorcycle without a license plate.

As per the report, hours after, an unidentified man was also killed when he allegedly engaged policemen, who were stationed at a checkpoint in Barangay Sumacab, to a gunfight.

Probers said that the suspect, who drove a tricycle, fled off when he was flagged down by policemen.

By the time he was cornered, he allegedly drew a .45-caliber pistol and fired at the policemen, who eventually retaliated. The suspect was eventually killed.

Recovered from the unidentified fatality were two sachets of illegal drugs.
