Anticrime Operations In Cabanatuan City Left With 2 Fatalities
CABANATUAN CITY – Two people, among them was one in the local drugs watchlist, were slain in separate anticrime operations in Cabanatuan City.
According to Inquirer, acting chief of Cabanatuan police Lieutenant Colonel Arnel Dial said that among the fatality was Jayson Magno, a resident of Barangay Imelda in the city.
The acting chief said that Magno led the anti-narcotics operatives to a gunfight in a buy-bust operation at around 6:15 PM in Brgy. Kapitan Pepe.
Probers recovered a homemade .38-caliber revolver, seven sachets of illegal drugs, ₱500 marked money and a motorcycle without a license plate.
As per the report, hours after, an unidentified man was also killed when he allegedly engaged policemen, who were stationed at a checkpoint in Barangay Sumacab, to a gunfight.
Probers said that the suspect, who drove a tricycle, fled off when he was flagged down by policemen.
By the time he was cornered, he allegedly drew a .45-caliber pistol and fired at the policemen, who eventually retaliated. The suspect was eventually killed.
Recovered from the unidentified fatality were two sachets of illegal drugs.
