Teen Proudly Show Off Her Hand Sewn Prom Dress by Grandma Amazed Netizens
A teen goes viral on social media after she proudly shows off her grandma’s hand-sewn prom dress made for her prom night.
Prom for junior high school or seniors is the most awaited event for students. This way to give the young people the chance to socialize and learn the things they need to know that only attending a formal event will give such as practicing social behavior, to walk and to dress, and to act appropriately.
Ladies and gentlemen wear their best outfit for the night. It is that one time they get to wear elegant-looking clothes and get all dolled up and enjoy a night full of festivities.
Meanwhile, a grade 10 student in Masbate City wears not one of the expensive dresses for the night but it is the best dress for her. In Twitter, Arianne Marie Contreras lauded his grandmother named “Mamay” Jovita who came up with her dress just hours before prom night.
“I don’t like the gowns here so I went to my grandma and asked her to customize mine. Since I still have spare silk, I went to my grandma’s house and asked if she can also make it. Though I feel bad for making her do another again, she insisted to help me with it,” said Contreras.
She also said on her tweet that she spends only 120 pesos for the spare silk with beads and some zippers. Her grandma’s hand tailoring skills make the 120 pesos materials into an expensive-looking dress.
Because the sewing machine was broken, her grandmother had to hand saw her dress. Contreras said her Mamay tried to make Gigi Hadid’s revealing cream-colored Jacquemus dress she wore at the Paris Fashion Week 2020.
She said, “She actually made 2. This one was made the day before the prom. Funny how the sewing machine didn’t work when we were about to start. This is handsewn, yes.” She added.
