According to SunStar, the government offers a reward of about ₱500,000 for the information on the whereabouts of the said assailant, who killed the enforcer in a road clearing operation in the said location.

The officer, identified as Mark Langam of the Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA), took a break with a fellow enforcer near Puerto Community Hospital.

The incident eventually occurred at around 7 PM on February 28 (Friday).

Lagman was eventually declared dead minutes after he was taken to the hospital.

Teodoro Sabuga-a, city administrator, requested National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Northern Mindanao for assistance in order to immediately resolve the case.

The fatality was part of the team enforcing the order from the Department of the Interior and Local Governments on clearing the road and banning tricycle on national highways.

The admin added that there are already results from the probe, especially when they have the CCTV footage of the incident. He, however, did not disclose more details, since this would hint the shooter to make a run for it.

“But we can assure you nga naa nay person of interest,”

“We have to continue. Tarong man ang atong ginahimo. Kanang mga threat, it’s part of the challenges, gai-test ang imong sincerity to implement the law,”

As per the report, local city police spokesperson Major Ivan Viñas said said that they are still probing further as they enhance the footage and look for any eyewitnesses.

He added that the reward for information would help to their probe.

“Kay kini mahimong sumbanan sa mga testigo nga mopatim-aw ug maghatag pamahayag ug sa dali nga kasulbaran sa maong panghitabo,”
