Two Chinese Suspects In Makati City Shooting Arrested
MAKATI CITY – Two out of three suspects involved in the shooting of two other Chinese nationals has been arrested.
According to GMA News, the suspects were identified as Yang Chau Wen and Liang Yuan Wu.
Chief of the local city police Colonel Rogelio Simon said that the three suspects met with the two victims in a restaurant. This is in order to change money from Chinese Yuan (¥) to Philippine Peso (₱).
Footage from CCTV shows that the five men entered a restaurant. Not long after, three of them were seen leaving the place in a hurry.
The two victims received multiple gunshot wounds. Among those victims were Yin Jian Tao, was found dead on the spot. The other was rushed to a hospital.
One of the arrested suspect, identified as Yang Chau Wen, testified that he was forced to join other two suspects.
“Ang kuwento nito, nagkikita-kita raw sa lugar para magpapalit ng pera. ‘Di raw niya alam kausap niya, na nanakawan siya, na kukunin ang pera niya,”
“Pero nakikita sa CCTV, siya may hawak ng pera at sila may baril,”
The footage also showed Yang running while carrying the money.
“I was afraid and ran away… We were three people but the other one shot him,”
As per the report, recovered from the two were stolen money, three guns, ammunition, a paper with handwritten Chinese characters, and IDs.
The IDs seemed to be issued by the Hong Kong Police and the People’s Liberation Army. However, the persons in the photos were not the arrested suspects.
“Ito ‘yung subject ng conference namin with police attache ng China by tomorrow. Ipapa-identify natin ito kasi ang nagsasabi lang din nito ay ‘yung mga suspek,”
“Na-inquest na ang mga suspek para sa mga kasong robbery with murder, frustrated murder at illegal possession of firearms,”
The cops are still looking for the third, who was still at large.
