Marvelous rainbow trees that can be found in some parts of Mindanao, this particular multicolored tree is one of the natural wonders of the Philippines.
The tree is called the Eucalyptus deglupta or Rainbow Eucalyptus tree, found in the countries of Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, and here in the Philippines. This plant showcases a spectrum of colors and beautifully-streaked patterns that make it look like that of a rainbow.
According to the report of Elite Readers, The bark of this tree looks like a rainbow, especially when viewed from a distance. When it comes to the smell, it contains the typical aroma of eucalyptus, which helps relax and soothe the emotions.
It also prevents air pollution. According to the expert, “Trees that exfoliate or discard their bark like the Rainbows, are actually used as street plantings in areas of heavy pollution. The bark that is sloughed off is actually discarding accumulated air pollution that is captured there.”
Aside from the Pacific nations, it is also cultivated in Hawaii, and in some places in the United States of America such as California, Florida, and Texas. In the Philippines, these trees are found in the forests of Mindanao, called “Bagras”.
According to experts, Bagras grows rapidly and grows, at a height of 250 feet. It usually lives in countries with tropical climates, or temperatures that hold at least 50 F (or 10 C.).
