ANTHROPOLOGY – In this topic, we are going to know and learn the definition of anthropology and more stuff to know about it.

Definition

It is a sub-branch of science that refers to the scientific study of humans, human behavior, and societies in the past and present.

It is derived from the Greek words ἄνθρωπος (ánthrōpos) which means “human” or “man” and λόγος (lógos) which means “study”.

Its purpose is to remind all man in all times and to all measures of humanity.

Branch

This branch also has four more subbranches:

  • Sociocultural
    • It was made of principles of both cultural and social anthropology.
    • In cultural, it is a study of many paths where man makes a sense in the world.
    • In society, it is affiliated with social studies and history.
  • Biological
    • Also known as Physical, it refers to the study of man and his ancestors in their biological, evolutionary, and demographic measures.
  • Archeology
    • It is the study of the history of man using the things they left behind in the world like artifacts, animal carcasses, and land made by man that were used as evidence to determine their culture and way of living.
  • Linguistic
    • Refers to the understanding the process of communication of man, the verbal and non-verbal, and the variation of language in the history of the world.
