Why netizens blame Vice Ganda for ABS-CBN’s problem with franchise renewal?
Netizens, reportedly, blamed It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda for the problem of ABS-CBN with its franchise renewal.
Vice is one of the Kapamilya stars who avidly showed support for the Kapamilya network regarding the franchise renewal issue. However, based on the article from the Philippine Entertainment Portal, he is being blamed for this problem.
It was said that a meme featuring the face of the Kapamilya comedian-host with his boyfriend Ion Perez circulated on social media. This line was stated in the said meme: “What’s going to happen to ABS-CBN is obviously God’s punishment for its sodomic influence to the Filipino youths through their drama programs. And to those who want to prevent the closure of ABS-CBN, then rest assured you will share their punishment.”
With this, entertainment columnist Jerry Olea asked it there is a “demolition job” against Vice Ganda since he is a known supporter of the present administration.
Meanwhile, columnist Noel Ferrer said that he don’t think Vice would still pay attention to this kind of thing and this received the same comment from columnist Gorgy Rula.
Meanwhile, the past video of the Kapamilya star which was taken during her May 2013 concert at the Araneta Coliseum resurfaced on social media. Based on the article that was during the time when the comedian-host had his weight joke against Kapuso journalist Jessica Soho who he included in a “rape joke”. On the other hand, Vice already apologized for that.
