Elton John Became Emotional as He Cuts Short His Concert Due to His Disease
Famous singer/songwriter Elton John became emotional as he cuts his New Zealand concert after he lost his voice while performing live.
According to the report of Inquirer, before his concert began at Mount Smart Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand, Sir Elton John told fans he had been diagnosed with walking pneumonia that morning. Indeed, he had some difficulties in his voice but he didn’t want to miss the concert.
“I was diagnosed with walking pneumonia this morning. My voice is shot but I didn’t want to miss this,” Elton John told the audience while tapping on his grand piano.
He started the night with his 1974 hit “Bennie and the Jets.” As a true showman, he poured the skill shown in grand piano solos despite the bad condition. Exciting applause and cheers were heard as he finished his signature song “Rocket Man.”
But unfortunately, Elton John fell into his chair after performing one of his longest songs – “Someone Saved My Life Tonight.” He squeaked as way of introducing the next song. He hit a few notes then he stopped.
“I’ve completely lost my voice,” he rasped. His throat sounded like it was being ripped with glass. “I’ve got to go home. I’m so sorry.”
Then Sir Elton John stood up from his piano and started sobbing and some medics immediately came up on the stage and the lights suddenly went out. Elton appeared to be in tears before being helped to get off the stage.
