AMERICAN IDOL – The judges of ‘American Idol’ calm the nerves of the Fil-Am singer before auditioning.

The 18th season of ‘American Idol’ premiered on February 16, 2020. The judges of the talent singing competition are Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan. Radio personality and producer Ryan Seacrest continued his role as host.

Several Filipinos have joined the prestigious singing competition because it has proven that it is one of the most successful reality competitions in history. Among the biggest stars from American Idol are Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Chris Daughtry, David Cook, and Adam Lambert.

The Filipinos who wowed the American Idol judges with their singing prowess include Brad Estrin, Jordan Segundo, Camile Velasco, Jasmine Trias, Sharon Galvez, and Jessica Sanchez among others.

Sanchez is one of the most talked-about Filipina contenders because she “received 6 unanimous standing ovations for her competitive performances from the judges — four for solo performances, one for group performance, and one for duet.”

Another Fil-Am singer has captured the attention of the people around the world after auditioning for American Idol 2020. An 18-year-old pre-law student from San Francisco, California named Francisco Martin impressed the judges with his amazing talent. But before that, he acted extremely nervous. His actions prompted judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie to calm his nerves.

The judges’ kind gesture eventually worked. The three of them were blown away by Francisco’s rendition of Maggie Rogers’ song “Alaska.”

Katy Perry gave Francisco Martin a chance to perform one of his compositions. His performance was praised by the judges and said he could make it to the top five or maybe even win.

“You’re going to Hollywood!” said the three judges.
