Former Police Officer Arrested For Alleged Bribery Of Official
ALLEGED BRIBERY – A former police officer who allegedly operated a “video karera” was arrested for alleged bribery of an official.
According to GMA News, the suspect allegedly attemptd to bribe an official of the Philippine National Police-Integrity and Monitoring Group (PNP-IMEG) on order to protect his illegal operations.
PNP-IMEG identified the suspect as retired Police Executive Master Sergeant Brigido Capio-An who was formerly stationed at the Quezon City Police District – Criminal Investigation Detection Unit.
Officials reported that An offered ₱10,000 as brbe to a team leader of PNP-IMEG in return for “protection” to hil illegal acts. It took place at the Eagle’s Nest Cafe inside Camp Crame on Thursday (February 6). Also recovered from the suspect was a Nokia cellphone.
As per the report, An is now under the custody of PNP-IMEG for more investigation and will be filed a criminal complaint for violation of Art. 212 of the Revised Penal Code or Corruption of a Public Official
