COUPLE IN US POSITIVE FOR CORONAVIRUS – A husband and wife from California, both 57, tested positive for the Wuhan coronavirus.

The couple was rushed to a hospital after they developed worsening symptoms. This was the second case of human-to-human transmission in the US.

According to an article from Daily Mail, the couple had been in home isolation. They are two of six total patients confirmed in the United States.

Following this, San Benito County health authorities came to diagnose the worsening symptoms of the couple. Afterward, he determined they needed to be placed somewhere “equipped for a higher level of care”.

The couple is now being treated at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Parnassus. The patients have been transferred out of San Benito County by specialty ambulance.

As per the report, the Husband traveled to Wuhan, China, where the virus was first discovered. However, his wife did not.

Authorities were still unclear as to when the husband arrived back in the US, whether he passed through screenings, or when he developed symptoms.

But, the San Benito health department stated the two have been in isolation since the husband returned from China. They were instructed to stay at home due to isolation protocols.

At that time, the couple didn’t show dire symptoms that deemed them to be hospitalized. However, they were kept under close supervision.

Unfortunately, in a matter of hours, their condition worsened. Although, it was still unclear how their symptoms changed or intensified.

Even with news of this case, the risk to the general public remains low because the patient remained at home,
