Fire Razed Police Station In Molo District, Iloilo City

ILOILO CITY – A fire has recently blazed the police station in the district of Molo in Iloilo City on Monday afternoon (February 3).

According to Panay News, Iloilo City Police Office spokesperson Captain Shella Mae Sangrines said that the blaze destroyed the police station’s Women and Children’s Protection Desk (WCPD) office.

Sangrines added that a thick smoke was first seen flowing from the WCPD office at around 2:40 Pm.

The said office is located in the second floor near the lockup facility of the district police station. Officials immediately vacated three inmates detained inside due to the thick smoke.

As per the report, Sangrines said that police were unable to recover police uniforms, a firearm and importan papers from the fire.

The police station spokesperson added that police officers who were on duty were out in the field for beat patrolling during the incident. Arson investigators are currently probing further to identify the cause and origin of the fire.
