The outbreak of the Wuhan coronavirus had taken 361 lives and had infected more than 16,000. Hubei Health authorities had reported that 56 people died of the coronavirus with 2,103 new cases confirmed in Hubei.

Passengers who arrived from Wuhan were met with health officials wearing full hazmats suits and were sprayed with antiseptic. They were exiting a flight from Wuhan China to Batam, Indonesia.

According to a report from Business Insider, the individuals in hazmat suits wore backpacks with the word “ALKOHOL” inscribed on them. As the passengers exited the plane they were sprayed with a clear mist.

However, a spokesperson for Indonesia’s President said that all passengers have been declared healthy according to the World Health Organization’s standards.

Following this, the passengers would be transported to Natuma Island to be put into quarantine on a military base with medical facilities for 14 days before being released.

As per the report, the news came amidst the increasing death toll of the new Wuhan coronavirus. All deaths were from mainland China except for 1 case in the Philippines.

According to the Department of Health, a 44-year-old man from Wuhan in the central Hubei province died after developing severe pneumonia.

The man had died at San Lazaro Hospital in Santa Cruz, Manila on Saturday. This was the first death out of at least 130 cases across two dozen countries and regions outside of China.

Meanwhile, a student at the University of Massachusetts Boston was also confirmed to be infected with the virus after coming home from Wuhan.
